Bantwal, Mar 18: Hindu Community members gathered at the station and created a situation of panic when police filed a case on Dr. Prabhakar Bhat for his derogatory triggering speech at a Hindu association in B.C. Road.
The members sat on a strike when police avoided them from entering station premises. There was a demand to take back the case and stop targeting Hindu members on the ground of political pressure.
Jagadish Shenava, while addressing the protesters, said that police are being harsh on Hindus for no valid reason, exploitation of innocent Hindus should be stopped immediately. He added that police are not taking action on Chandra Prakash Shetty, Prashant Kulal and other Congress man who created a mess at Kaladka.
Jithendra S. Kottari, anchorman of Hindu Hitarakshana Samiti warned the police against their actions and said that this is not acceptable, there would be a strong protest if this continues.
The plea was later submitted to the additional SP Shivakumar, he said that the case will be investigated in detail and the actions will be as per the law. The protest was taken back later.
Dr. Kamala Bhat Kaladka, Asha Prasad, BJP Leader Rajesh Nayak, Shrikar prabhu, Rukmini Poojari, Ramdas Bantwal and others were present.
