Udupi, Mar 21: V Dhananjaya Kumar, former Mangalore MP and former union minister has filed his nomination as a JD(S) candidate from Udupi-Chikmagalur constituency on March 21, Friday. The JD(S) had announced Dhananjaya’s candidature from Udupi the previous day.
Addressing press persons on the occasion, Dhananjaya highlighted his achievements during his tenure as MP of Mangalore and claimed that he had strived to solve the problems of areca and coffee growers
He accused BJP as a party of opportunists who are banking upon the popularity of its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
Dhananjaya was once a staunch loyalist of former CM B.S. Yeddyurappa.
JD(S) leader Madhu Bangarappa, Deviprasad Shetty, District President of JD(S), H S Manjappa, Chikmagalur district President of the Party, Gulam Mohammad and others were present.
