Mangalore, May 12: Customs officials arrest a passenger and seize gold worth Rs 4.14 lakh hidden inside a flask at the Mangalore International Airport on May 10, Saturday.
The arrested passenger has been identified as Muneer Pallipuzha of Pallikere, Kasargod, who was carrying gold sheet weighed 116.5 grams valued at Rs 4,14,370, concealed in silver coat, which was found inside the flask. Apart from it, he had also carried gold coins weighing 24 grams in total.
The passenger was arrived by an Air India Express Flight IX 824 from Sharjah.
The arrest operation was conducted by the team led by Assistant Commissioner of Customs of the Airport Krishna Kumar Prasad.
Further investigations will be conducted under the guidance of Customs Commissioner D Purushottam.
