Mangalore, June 2: “An arrangement for a special meeting to discuss the Self-Assessment Tax issue will be made and this will also clear the apprehensions in the minds of the public regarding the possible hike in SAS,” said Mayor Mahabala Maarla at the first session of the Mangalore City Corporation held at the MCC Conference Hall on May 31, Saturday.
On this occasion, a corporator raised the problems posed by the street vendors at several areas in the city, the MCC Commissioner assured to look into the same and initiate strict action against those flouting rules.
Later BJP corporators raised questions on the increase of Self-Assessment Tax. The Mayor tried to explain to them that tax was increased by the District Administration and not the Congress.
