Mangalore, June 4: Pre-monsoon showers across southern peninsula in recent is a good sign that the southwest monsoon may arrive in the state within the next 48 hours, says the regional meteorological department.
In its bulletin it has said, “Conditions are favourable for the onset of SW monsoon over Kerala during the next 48 hours.” Also predicted are heavy rainfalls in the excess of 7 cm at isolated places, along SW coast over the next two days.
Weathermen have advised fishermen to avoid venturing out to sea on the backdrop of predictions of strong winds along the west coast on June 4.
