As many as 68 men engaged in bike wheeling were arrested by the Bangalore City Traffic Police on Friday night.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic-West) S. Girish was injured when he was knocked down by a motorcycle near CBI Junction at R.T. Nagar when he was checking documents of traffic violators. While the motorcycle rider escaped, pillion rider was arrested.
Two die in accidents
Two persons were killed in separate hit-and-run accidents in the city since Friday. Musician Venkataramu (42), resident of Madanayakanahalli, was mowed down by an unidentified vehicle on Nice Road near Kumbalagodu on Saturday. Venkataramu was on his way to attend a wedding when the accident occurred, police said.
Kumbalagodu police have registered a case.
In another incident, a senior citizen was knocked down by a motorcycle near Sumanahalli flyover on Friday night. The motorist fled from the accident spot. The dead man was identified as Subramani (68), resident of Vrushbhavathi Nagar.
