Mumbai: They are the face of a leading dance reality show on television. Filmmaker Karan Johar and leading choreographer-turned director Remo D’Souza had chalked out the perfect plan to take their association to the next level and seal the deal with a film.
The two had locked a script and the film was to be produced by Dharma Productions. But creative differences seem to have marred those plans.
Buzz is that Karan and Remo have parted ways.
Sources close to Karan, however, insist that the project has been put on hold. But then there are others who say it has been shelved altogether.
We hear that Karan wanted to commence shooting the film early next year but due to Remo’s prior commitments he was unable to allot dates to the project.
“Right now, Remo is busy with the reality show. After that he has to start shooting ABCD 2 which is scheduled to happen next month. Once that is out of the way, he will start on Ekta Kapoor’s action film,” say Remo’s close associates.
The delay in Karan’s film is said to have caused a rift between the two. But Karan has clarified to his team that it is entirely professional and not personal.
