Pleasant weather, gathering of huge members with bright coloured sports jerseys formed a perfect environment to grand opening of maiden Oman Tuluver family sports meet 2017 under the leadership of Oman Tuluver
The mega event was traditionally inaugurated by lighting of the lamp by K.K.Poonacha at Sidab Ahli sports complex. K.K.Poonacha who had very professional and illustrated hockey career both as a player and coach had won many International and national awards to his merit was also serviced as a Junior Commissioned Officer in Indian Army. Presently serving as Oman national hockey coach.With other noted sports, business & community leaders of Tulunadu,he appreciated Oman Tuluver for organising such a splendid sports event and encouraged people to prove their physical fitness and enhance sportsmen spirit.
Also other noted dignitaries, Samir Parkar and Mujahid Kotawadekar, (ICC qualified and Oman League cricket umpires). G V Ramakrishna, Diwakar Shetty of Multitech Contrg, Riyaz Ahmed of SAH Properties, Ganesh Shetty of STS, Manjunath Nayak of STS, Srinivas Shriyan, Dileep Correa, Umesh Bantwal, Guru Prasad Amin and Kuttappa were also present and graced the occasion.
Followed by Inauguration, Oman and Indian National Anthem was played before the Oath taking ceremony of Captains and players to stay true to the spirit of the game.
Oman Tuluver family sports meet began with Cricket and Volleyball following back to back Fridays with sports for both men and women fun filled Family individual games for all age groups.
Response to unique family sports meet was very good with many teams around the Sultanate of Oman participating in Sidab Ahli sports complex .Among 29 Cricket teams and 22 Volley ball teams, finally 14 Cricket teams are qualified for second round which will be held on 27.01.2017 and the teams are as follows,
