Keshava Moily- An experienced and matured Harmonium Instructor, Kunjattabail, Mangaluru had an ambition of organizing a Devotional Gala event in favor of visiting Mumbai artists from Kalajagattu and Kalasourabha Kalasamste (Kala, Art centre), founded by like minded young Mumbai residents from coastal region a few years back.Mr.Moily, who was one of the members in that group (now settled in Mangalore) has given many Hamonium programmes along with his group colleagues.
However his passion for his art didn’t deter him from passion even after settling in his native place. Once it so happened, one of the founder artists of the said group by name Shekar Sashihitlu- an Ex-Employee of Bank of Baroda, relentlessly giving his Kalaseva programs in various platforms for the last 25 years, informed to Mr.Moily about their intending visit to native place to give some Mega programs.
Capitalizing this opportunity, an idea of honoring Mumbai artists,his ex-colleagues, flashed in the mind of Mr.Moily and by seeking the co-operations from like minded people and Kala centers, he went ahead, made his dream turns reality by organizing a cultural and devotional three- in –one event-Saxophone Rendition(Vadana),Bhakti Sangeeta Karna Rasa Manjari Karyakrama and “Naladamayanti” Bhakti Sangeetamaya Harikata Prasanga, on 01.02.2021 at Shree Rama Bhajana Mandira Sabha Graha,Derebail,Konchady,Mangaluru.
Programme was started exactly at 4.30 P.M in presence of guests with the lighting of Lamp.After lighting the lamp a beautiful Saxophone rendition (Vadana) program was performed led by Shree Hareesh Devadiga, Punjalakatte, Disciple of Haridas Dogra ,and his young energetic Shishyavrinda,comprising of Ms.Dhanya Rao on Sexophone,Kumari Adhiti on Tala (Cymbal),Shree Janardhan Salian,desciple of Late Pandit Madhukar Samantha, an expert in Semiclassical,Hindustani,semi classical,Nataka,orchestra and Marathi programmes apart being a good singer on Tabla and Mr.Ananda Devadiga Dharmastala, brother of Dharmastala Annu Devadiga,Rajya Prashasti winner on Tavil (Dolu).
One among this young team is Mr.Mayur, an young energetic, son of Mr.Keshava Moily and he is a student.
After an hour long session, all the members of their team have been felicitated by offering shawl with flower, fruits. Mr. Hareesh Devadiga- head of the saxophone team has been felicitated by Shree Suresh Shetty, Mr.Janardhan Salian has been felicitated by Kotian-Sitar player, Mr.Ananda Devadiga has been felicitated by Mr. Vijaya, Padhadhikari of Sree Rama Bhajana Mandira and Ms.Dhanya Rao, Kumari Adhiti and Master Mayur have been felicitated by Mr Madhava Devadiga, Konchady, Mr Murlidhar, Pumpwell respectively.
After the memorable and beautiful Saxophone session, Bhakti Sangeeta karna Rasa Manjari Karyakrama was held,a team led by Mrs.Rashmi Ravi Kumar,Landlinks,Konchady and her team consisting mostly of an young, energetic students. Mr. Ravi Kumar, husband of Mrs.Rashmi has introduced all the team members and their existence in the area and achievements to the audience.
They have sung mind blowing, mesmerizing Bhakti (Devotional) songs for an hour and enthralled the audience and made everyone to immerse in deep devotion (Bhakti) during entire session.It was nicely choreographed and all the disciples comprising Ms.Kavya, Navya,Janvi,Avnita,Sanvi,Sanvi Bhat have been groomed like a professionals and all have done justice to their roles. Meticulously executed.
Narasimha Nayak and Janardhan Salian on Tabla, Umesh on flute, have nicely co-operated in their respective roles with Mrs.Rashmi Ravi Kumar to ensure that their session gets over very fruitful and successful manner.
After the session, all the members of the team have been felicitated. Mrs.Rashmi Ravi Kumar has been felicitated by Mrs.Chethana Keshava Moily wife of Mr.Keshava Moily, by offering Shawl, flower and fruits.Mr.Narasimha Nayak has been felicitated by Mr.Bhaskar Salian, Konchady by offering Shawl, flower and fruit and Mr. Umesh has been felicitated by Mohan Sharma, Gopalakrishna Bhajana Mandira, Kadri Kambla by offering Shawl, flower and fruits.
Even young, energetic disciples of the team have been honored by offering flower and fruits.Ms.Kavya, Navya, Janvi have been honored by Mr.Damodhar, Konchady and Ms.Anvita, Sanvi, Sanvi Bhat, Janvi have been honored by Mr.Pai.
Followed by this fabulous session, main attraction of the program “Naladamayanti” Bhakti Sangeetamaya, Sampoorna Arthamaya, Bhavanatmaka Harikata Prasanga Karyakrama led by renowned Haridasa Vidhwan Vishwanath Bhat,Kalya,Kyrabettu and his team comprising of Mr.Shekar,Sasihitlu, on Harmonium,Mr.Janardhan Salian on Tabla and Mr.Ravi Kukkiyan on Tala (Cymbal) has been started.
Vidhwan Vishwanath Bhat with his vast experience explained the story of “Naladamayanti” very well with so many examples of incidents co-related to our real life. During this more than one and half an hour of Harikata Prasanga, Vidhwan Bhat made most of the audience to cry with his action and deliberations. So nice and emotional session it was. With the Mangala by Haridasa Vidhwan Vishwanath Bhat himself,Harikata session has been concluded.
Mr.Shekar Moily Padebettu has compered the whole program in co-ordination with Mr.Keshava Moily, convener, Suresh Shetty and proposed vote of thanks to all the visiting Mumbai and local artists,all the generous donors, sponsors,art lovers, Sree Rama Bhajana Mandira Management committee members for providing beautiful stage and lighting arrangement for the program, sound system company for providing sound system for the program until the last moment and to all the people who have contributed their mite directly or indirectly for the grand success of the program.
