All over the country Children Day was observed on November 14 like in the previous years. The specialty of this year Children Day celebration in Kannada filmdom was floating of the first International Children Film festival from Karnataka government.

The KINCHIFF (Karnataka International Children Film Festival) was inaugurated on 13th evening by Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah. The screening of films started from Friday in Bangalore.

On this occasion the noted director of national and international acclaim TS Nagabharana observes that the popular media ‘Cinema’ should be part of the text books for children in their studies. TS Nagabharana maker of popular television serial like ‘Stone Boy’, children films like ‘Chinnari Muththa’ and ‘Kamsale Kaisale’ says the government of Karnataka is giving subsidy to four quality children films in a year. It is not properly utilized by our film makers.

The media should be effectively used. The doubt of whether the film is for the children or for elders should not come. There is no proper platform for release of children film like how the top heroes commercial films are released he laments.
