Mumbai: Anil Kapoor was born on December 24, 1956 in Mumbai. The versatile actor and producer of Bollywood and Hollywood has starred in many notable films, making his debut in Woh Saat Din (1983) in a major role. But his Bollywood debut in a small film was in Hamare Tumhare (1979). He first starred in the lead in Bapu’s Telugu film Vamsa Vruksham (1980) but impressed people more in Mani Ratnman’s Pallavi Anu Pallavi. It was a Kannda film and not Tamil like many of Ratnam’s later films.
Anil Kapoor went on to star in many interesting and some commercial Bollywood films like Tezaab, Ram Lakhan, Mashaal, Karma, Meri Jung, Mr. India, Lamhe, Janbaaz, Eeshwar, Beta, Virasat, Biwi No.1, Pukar, No Entry, Welcome, My Wife’s Murder, Taal, Nayak, and so on. He acted in a pivotal role in Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire that went on to win an Oscar. He was later seen in Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol.
The actor produced and acted in the official Indian remake of American TV show 24.
