Mumbai: Umesh Shukla’s next film, which is as yet untitled went on floors on October 16. In it, Rishi Kapoor will essay the role of Abhishek Bachchan’s father.
The duo has earlier worked together in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s ‘Delhi 6’.

The film also stars Smriti Irani and Asin. The remaining portions of the project will be shot in Himachal Pradesh and Malshej Ghat, Maharashtra.
Speaking about the casting of Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan in the film, Umesh Shukla said, “Rishiji is playing Abhishek’s father and the film is about family values, but it’s not preachy. It has humour, fun and entertainment, which I think should be its USP.”
Himesh Reshammiya will provide the music for this project, and two songs have already been recorded. While, this film is being produced by T-series, Umesh Shukla will be turning producer with this film. He plans to co-produce few of his upcoming projects under the banner of his production house, Benchmark Films.
While Bhushan Kumar has admitted that he has a five-film deal with the OMG!: Oh My God director, Shukla said, “Bhushan Kumar is a good friend, and why five, I’m willing to make 10 films for him. But it’s not an exclusive contract, and I’m open to making films with other banners as well.” Another film that has just been announced from them is 102 Not Out.
Shukla will be directing Amitabh Bachchan and Paresh Rawal for this one. “It’s based on a Gujarati play with the same name, written by Saumya Joshi, screenplay writer Abhijaat Joshi’s brother. So, this will also be Joshi’s first film as a writer. But there is still time before we start shooting it. I’ll be first completing my film with Abhishek,” said Shukla.
