Hyderabad: National Award winning actor and one of the highest paid character artistes in the industry, Prakash Raj, has been shown the door by the makers of the Mahesh Babu and Tamanna starrer Aagadu due to his tantrums.
Sources tell us that the actor, from the moment he started shooting for his part on Wednesday, started throwing tantrums. He shouted at the assistant directors and was getting irritated at every small thing.
This is not the first time that the actor has thrown his weight around. At many earlier occasions too, producers and directors have had to bow to his demands.
“He is a very good actor but his attitude and behaviour are always wrong. He feels that he is not replaceable in South, so most of the times he troubles the producers and directors,” says a close source.
On Wednesday, the actor left the shooting early and told the makers that he didn’t want to come on Thursday. “He thought that the producers would fall on his feet and request him,” added the source. However, the producers apparently had had enough of the actor’s tantrums and asked Sonu Sood to join the shoot immediately.
“Everybody in the unit was surprised to see Sonu in place of Prakash Raj. Things have changed very quickly,” says a unit member. Sonu, who is shooting for a Hindi film directed by Farah Khan, finished his part late at night and travelled from Mumbai to Hyderabad early on Thursday and participated in the Aagadu shoot immediately.
Surprisingly, Prakash Raj wasn’t even aware that he had been dropped from the movie as the producers and the director, Srinu Vaitla, decided not to inform him.
This is the first time that Prakash Raj has been given the boot from a big project.
