Muscat: Following the thundering success of two mega musical treats “SANGEETA LAHARI” in 2011 and “YAADON KI BARAAT” in 2012, SPANDANA team is gratified to unfurl another scintillating musical event “RAAG ANURAAG” (Tune with Passion), a fusion of melody and music.
This time, the event will encompass a homogenous confluence of Bhava Geethe (emotional), Bhakti Geethe (devotional), Janapada Geethe (folk), Instrumental, Fusion Music and evergreen melodious film songs in different languages and it will certainly be one of a kind. This mega event will take place on Thursday, 16th May 2013 at the Grand Hall, Al Falaj Hotel, Muscat and is a free to all show with entry passes. Communication about distribution/collection of Passes will follow.
It is going to be an experience of a lifetime witnessing two versatile artistes Ms. Sunita Acharya and Mr. Sreenath Bharadwaj conjure musical magic supported by a well acclaimed orchestra performing with their musical instruments like Flute, Saxophone, Tabla, Keyboard, Guitar, Drums and Rhythm Pad that would resonate, breaking the silence of the night, very much to the delight of all music lovers. “Raag Anuraag” will be a display of melodious intonation with beautiful hues of Instrumental and Folk, Emotional and Devotional, Classical and Filmy.
Suneeta Acharya
Suneeta, a gifted and multi-talented singer, was trained in classical music under the tutelage of the famous Vidhwan Mysore Nagamani Srinath and later continued her training under Shri Venkatesh Bharadwaj. Suneeta gave her first stage performance at the tender age of six and since then, it has been no looking back for her. She is also well versed in playing instruments like Veena, Keyboard and Dolak. Suneeta is endowed with the potential and versatility to present melodious songs in Kannada, Hindi, Konkani, Tulu, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarathi, Rajasthani and Marwadi with equal elan. Her ability to render 4000 songs in different languages without referring to lyric books is highly notable. Her stage performances have already crossed 20000 shows all around India.
Suneeta is also capable of emulating the voices of legendary singers of yesteryears, viz. Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle, Vani Jayaram, S. Janaki, L. R. Eshwari, P. Susheela, Anuradha Podwal, Alka Yagnik and also like present leading singer Shreya Ghoshal. Her systematic, methodical and perfect performance has brought her laurels everywhere. She has earned prestigious titles such as Mysore Ratna, Junior Lata Mangeshkar, Junior S. Janaki and is also the recipient of various other awards from different institutions.
Suneeta had performed with renowned playback singers like Dr. P. B. Srinivas, Dr. S. P. Balasubramanyam, Dr. Raj Kumar and also had shared the stage with Dr. Vishnuvardhan, Anant Nag, Shankar Nag and Bollywood legendary artists like Amitabh Bachchan, Johnny Lever, the legendary drummer Shivamani, the International Guitarist Jani etc., Suneeta has also performed in concerts conducted by Ilayaraja, Deva, Mysore Mohan, V. Manohar, T. N. Seetaram, to name a few.
She has lent her voice in playback singing for several Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Konkani and Tulu films. Suneeta has the opportunity of working with great music directors like Hamsalekha and Shankar Ganesh for nearly 15 films. A familiar face on television, Suneeta has been a regular performer in T.V. channels such as Zee Kannada, Chandana TV, Spandana TV and has sung for Kannada serials like Guna Gana, Kaurava, Chandra Chakori, Collegu Tharanga. Suneeta has also composed more than 50 songs for Mysore Akashavani and has already released around 300 personal audio CDs. Suneeta, is all set to enthrall the Muscat audience for the first time with a variety of songs in different languages during the mega musical event “RAAG ANURAAG” (Tune with Passion).
G. S. Sreenath Sastry (Bharadwaj)
Sreenath Bharadwaj is a passionate musician whose versatility is his forte. Sreenath pursued his immense interest in music right from his childhood. During his past 25 years musical journey Sreenath has sung in Kannada, Hindi, Tulu, Telugu and Tamil languages in more than 1,600 musical concerts rendering Bhakthi Geethe, Bhava Geethe, Janapada Geethe and Chitra Geethe.
Sreenath worked with the famous Music Director Late Upendra Kumar for many years as a music co-ordinator and started playback singing under his guidance. He has rendered his voice as a playback singer for various films like Swarna Samsara, Anukulakkobba Ganda, CBI Shiva, Chukki Chandrama, Samayakkondu Sullu, Anuraga Geethe etc., and also for many Telugu, Tamil films.
He had been singing Bhava Geethe songs in Bangalore Akashawani (Radio) for more than 5 years now. Sreenath had undergone extensive music training with Adarsh Film Institute, Bangalore. Thereafter, he had the opportunity to sing in “Brinda Gayana” with most of the renowned Music Directors. Although, initially he started his music career as a chorus singer, having sung for 60-70 block buster films, and later on he became a full-fledged playback singer.
Sreenath’s greatest achievement has been his Music Direction for Bhakthi Geethe (Devotional Songs) in different languages which were sung by famous play back singers like Dr. S.P. Balasubramanyam, P.Susheela, S.Janaki, Vani Jayaram, Manu and Manjula Gururaj etc., Not only that, Sreenath had sung duet songs with all these legendary playback singers. During his music career, Sreenath had won several accolades / titles from various institutions. The most prestigious being “GANA KOGILE” from Bhatta Prabhu Das Organization, Cuddaph (A.P.), “GHANTA SALA – P.B SRINIVAS PRASHASTHI” from Sri Ghantasala Sangeetha Samskarana Kala Peetam Organisation, Machali Pattnam, (A.P.),“SANGEETA RATNA”, Bangalore and “Manava Seva Prashasthi” given by Dhitta Karmika Pathrike, Bangalore.
Sreenath is currently working in “Sadhana Studio” Bangalore, as a full time Singer and Music Arranger. He has been regularly singing in famous musical program called “Madhura Madhuravi Manjula Gana” being telecast in Door Darshan & Chandana TV channels for more than a year and also Bhakthi Geethe in Udaya TV channel. He is also serving as a music teacher for Manjula Gururaj Music Institute, Bangalore.
