Spandana Muscat organized its second Blood Donation Drive on Saturday, 18th January 2014 at a centrally located camp opp. Al Falaj Hotel in Ruwi under the auspices of Central Blood Bank, Ministry of Health, Sultanate of Oman. For Spandana it was a New Year gift to humanity.
It is heartening to note that this time too Spandana received an overwhelming response from all corners. More than 160 enthusiastic donors participated in the session and finally 143 donors successfully donated blood.
The blood donation session kicked-off with a short inaugural function in the gracious presence of Shri G. V. Ramakrishna, Head National Sales and Expat Services, Bank Muscat and Shri Ajay Hamlai, CMD and Chairman of Al Bahja Group of Companies, being the chief guests.
Spandana team was truly humbled to witness such a large turnout and it was indeed a proud moment for Spandana team and the team rejoiced its achievement with a great sense of satisfaction and fulfillment.
All the donors were given a gift hamper as a goodwill gesture from Spandana and at the end of the session a raffle draw was conducted wherein 3 lucky winners walked away with attractive prizes sponsored by M/s. Ismail Al Azmi Trading.
The Blood Bank officials and the donors alike were highly appreciative of Spandana’s efforts and thanked the organizers for the impeccable arrangements, the hospitality and all in all for a well co-ordinated blood donation drive.
In the past 2-3 years, Spandana team has been organizing free/open-to-all quality musical shows / entertainment programs drawing thousands of music lovers in Oman, which have been highly appreciated by all. No doubt, Spandana team has already carved a niche in Muscat by organizing such quality entertainment programs. In addition, Spandana team has also been doing its bit by involving in certain charity activities back home as a social responsibility.
The resounding success achieved in this blood donation camp is yet another feather in Spandana’s cap. Spandana attributes its success to the wholehearted support and encouragement received from all its members, sponsors and well-wishers.
As promised, the Spandana team has already started the New Year with a noble gesture by campaigning for a noble cause “blood donation…….a gift of life to humanity”. We believe that together, every drop fills a reservoir!! It is Spandana’s endeavor to continue its efforts in serving the society in whatever way possible in its own small way. Surely, together we can make a difference.
