The holidays for public sector will start from Friday, October 3, 2014, until Monday, October 6, 2014.
Dubai – Hussein Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education and Director-General of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, on Thursday issued a circular announcing that the Eid Al Adha holiday for Federal Ministries and Departments is to start on Friday, October 3, (corresponding to Dhul Hijjah 9th, Arafa Day) and end on Monday, October 6. Normal Federal Government business hours will resume on Tuesday, October 7.
The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources circular comes under the provisions of paragraph 5 of Article 100 of Ministry Council Resolution No. 13 of the year 2012, for the Regulations of Federal Law by Decree No. 11 for the year 2008, which defines federal government vacation days and holidays.
3-day holiday for the private sector for Eid Al Adha
Private sector will have a three-day Eid Al Adha holiday from Friday October 3, 2014 to Sunday October 5, 2014.
This came in a circular issued by Saqr Ghobash, Minister of Labour, pursuant to the provisions of Article 74 of the Federal Law No. 8 of 1980 concerning the regulation of labor relations, as amended, which states that the Eid Al Adha holiday stand three days.
The Authority congratulated the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, the people of the UAE, and of Arab and Islamic nations, on the occasion.
