New record for most nationalities singing a country’s national anthem in unison

Dubai: UAE has once again entered the record books with a new world record for most nationalities singing a national anthem at one time. Bringing together students from 119 nationalities, the record was set earlier today by GEMS Education.

“Our world record-breaking rendition of the UAE national anthem is a celebration of unity through diversity,” said Amal Al Bayari, Director of Government Relations at GEMS Education.

Gathered together in the playing fields of GEMS Wellington Academy, Dubai Silicon Oasis, more than 100,000 students across different schools watched the new record via live-stream.

Officials from the Guinness World Records team were at hand to make sure the passports of student singers were checked to verify the nationalities of students.

Speaking with Khaleej Times, Dino Varkey, Group Executive Director of GEMS Education said, “For us, UAE is the home for everything we do. It has allowed us to build a network of schools which has a global impact and this is our way of saying thank you.”
