The UAE’s National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) has aksed motorists to take precautions on roads due to the reduced visibility and beware of slippery roads when rain starts on Thursday and Friday.
The NCMS said in a statement on Thursday that ”due to clouds that have moved from the centre and south of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia towards the United Arab Emirates, and the area under affect of surface trough, associated with upper air trough, the country will have unstable weather condition for the next three days at least. Clouds will be increase over some scattered areas with a chance of rain from time to time with different intensities of rain. Winds will be moderate to fresh in general, causing blowing dust which may reduce horizontal visibility over some areas at times.”
This period of time is known as the transitional period that comes between the summer and winter seasons, and is usually characterised with a significant change in weather.
