Over 200 artwork by students of Regent International School will be on display on June 16, 2014 at the campus; Student chefs to serve three-course dinner to guests amid entertainment bonanza
Dubai, 14 June 2014: For the second consecutive year students of Regent International School will showcase their artwork for one evening only as part of a fundraiser for special needs children of Rashid Paediatric Centre on June 16, 2014.
The artwork will be on display at the RIS campus from 6:30 to 9:30 pm which will be followed by an evening of performing arts where students will showcase their talent in singing, dancing, poetry recitation etc. Kids from the Rashid Paediatric Centre will also join the RIS students in a rare display of talent.
For making this event a success, the students are guided by Mr. Paul Robinson, Head of Department, Art & Design and Ms. Rachael Pryce who is a faculty member at the school.
Commenting on the school activity, Ms. Katrina Mankani, Head of Department – Education & Human Values, said: “The RIS endeavor to support Rashid Paediatric Centre is part of our commitment to the community. By involving children to contribute to the cause of helping special needs children, we believe that we are inculcating in them the essential values of social commitment.”
She said the activities are entirely driven by children with the support of teachers. “Apart from showcasing children’s artwork and their talent in performing arts, what makes the evening different will be that guests will be able to savor a three-course-dinner which would be prepared by the student chefs of RIS at the food technology lab.”
There will be an entry fee of AED 100 per person for the arts show and dinner in the evening.
The entire proceeds from the art show and the dinner will be given to Rashid Paediatric Centre. A few artwork by the students of Rashid Pediatric Centre would also be auctioned at the event.
“Every year students and teachers of RIS conceive innovative activities to support Rashid Paediatric Centre and we are delighted to support such an august institution and a pioneer in the UAE in providing special needs children quality education and therapy to help them integrate into the mainstream society,” Ms. Katrina Mankani added.
