Ramadan will begin on Sunday, June 29, 2014, in the UAE and other Gulf countries, according to local television reports.
The holy month will see Dubai transform into a hub that showcases the emirate’s diverse tourism offerings in a modern Arabic setting while retaining its Islamic values and roots.
This Ramadan is expected to be the longest in 30 years, beginning with 15.8 hours and ending with 14.50 hours, Eng Mohammed Shawkat Udah, head of the Islamic project for moon sighting, had told Khaleej Times earlier.
