Srinagar: Three terrorists were killed on Thursday in a gunfight with security forces in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.
A motor vehicle checking party of security forces was fired upon by militants travelling in a vehicle in Tral at around 7 pm, which was retaliated, triggering off an encounter, Inspector General of Police Kashmir AG Mir told media.
“In the ensuing gun battle, three militants were killed. The identity of the slain militants is being ascertained,” Mir said.
“A self-loading rifle (SLR), a carbine rifle, a pistol, grenades and ammunition were found in their possession,” he said.
