BHILWARA: A 12-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly raped and beheaded by an unidentified man in Bhilwara district while she was out with her friends to graze her goats, police said.
The headless body of the girl, a resident of Shahi Pipla village under Kachhola police state area, was found in bushes on the outskirts of the village by a passerby on Thursday morning, police said, adding that her head was lying a few metres away from the spot.
The post-mortem report confirmed rape before the murder, police said. According to police, the girl had left her home around 9am on Wednesday along with three friends and their goat herds to graze them outside the village, but she didn’t return till evening.
The family members enquired the friends about her whereabouts, but they didn’t have any clue. Her relatives approached police in the night and filed a missing report.
