New Delhi: Congress president Sonia Gandhi was “stable and recovering well”, a hospital statement said Friday.
The Congress president was admitted to the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi on Thursday for an infection in the lower respiratory tract.
“Sonia Gandhi was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital yesterday (Thursday) evening with lower respiratory tract infection and some breathing difficulty for further treatment and observation,” Ajay Swaroop, chairman (offg.), board of management, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, said in a statement.
“Her condition is stable and she is recovering well,” he added.
She was was admitted under the care of Arup Kumar Basu, senior consultant and chairman of respiratory medicine and his team.
