Mumbai: Indrani Mukerjea, who is accused of killing her daughter Sheena Bora, also had plans of killing her son, Mikhail Bora, according to reports.
Sources in the Mumbai Police told the media that Indrani tried to hire a contract killer to murder Mikhail. It was her fourth attempt to kill Mikhail.
Mikhail had earlier alleged that his mother had made multiple attempts to kill him and that he felt threatened. Even on the day his sister was strangled in a car in Mumbai, he was drugged by Indrani and her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna.
Khanna has been arrested along with Indrani’s driver for Sheena’s murder. Police is also likely to slap fresh charges of attempt to murder against Indrani, Sanjeev and the driver for trying to kill Mikhail.
On Sunday, police seized a suitcase from residential premises of Indrani and Peter Mukerjea in Mumbai’s Worli area. The seizure of the suitcase from the residence of Indrani and Peter Mukerjea in Worli could lend credence to Mikhail Bora’s claim that his mother had planned to kill him too.
Mikhail also handed over some audio tapes, letters and other documents to the Khar police which he had kept as “evidence” to point out why exactly Indrani Mukerjea wanted to kill his sister. He said he was certain Indrani “could” kill his sister and was scared for his own life. The police assured him he would be kept safe till the end of this trial.
Sources said that Mikhail had also given information about four emails exchanged between him and Sheena where she had spoken about the issues she was facing with Indrani. “There were a lot of issues between Sheena and Indrani,” said the police source.
