Lucknow, July 20: Alleging the UPA government at the Centre had failed on all fronts, the BSP supremo Mayawati on Saturday said all sections of the society were facing immense hardships due to its wrong policies.
The UPA government was neglecting people’s and country’s interests on various issues, she said at a meeting to review BSP’s preparations for coming Assembly and Lok Sabha polls in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattishgarh and Rajasthan.
Corruption was rampant during the UPA regime and people were facing immense hardships due to its wrong policies, she alleged.
“We have to finalise our strategies and preparations for upcoming polls keeping in mind these factors,” a party release quoting Ms. Mayawati as saying said.
“The government’s attitude towards religious minorities, especially Muslims, is passive,” she said.
Attacking the BJP, Ms. Mayawati alleged in states where the party was in power, communal forces were seen gaining strength.
Stressing the BSP was the “Sarv Samaj” party, she said the party favoured establishment of social order based on equality.
Ms. Mayawati said her party’s movement was quite strong in Uttar Pradesh but hard work was required to strengthen it in MP, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Maharashtra and other states.
Names of some party’s candidates for Assembly polls in MP, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan were finalised at the meeting, the release said.
