Coimbatore; Shocking is too subtle a word to describe the actions of a 43-year-old secretary of a private school in Tirupur, Tamil Nadu as the man would kiss girl students studying in class 10 of the school as punishment for coming late to special classes.
The Tirupur police said that Kathiresan, who is the secretary of the school management, would order latecomers to meet him in his office room where he would then proceed to kiss them as punishment.
“When girls went late to school, Kathiresan kissed the students claiming that it was a punishment for coming late to school,” a police official said.
The girls reported the incident to their class teachers and the principal of the school, Lakshmi, but they did not get a positive response.
When parents came to know, they staged a protest in the school on Tuesday morning demanding the arrest of the secretary. They caught hold of Kathiresan in his office room and beat him up before they were sent out by other school staff.
Krishnaveni, the sub-inspector of north Tirupur, rushed to the spot and took Kathiresan into custody, and later in the day arrested him.
