If you are an ardent horror buff than this live event on TV is not to be missed. Destination America, a Discovery Communications-owned cable channel, will be airing ‘Exorcism: Live!’ at 9p.m. ET Friday in the allegedly haunted house that inspired that ‘The Exorcist’ book and movie, according to the Washington Post.
The telecast, which will last for two hours, will feature a clergyman, a psychic and the team form the network’s Ghost Asylum, who will venture into the spooky venue. Their aim: to help cleanse the house that is supposedly filled with a dark, sinister energy.
For those who don’t know, William Blatty’s 1971 horror novel ‘The Exorcist’ was actually based on the real-life case of an America teenager known as Roland Doe. In 1949, Doe had become violently ill and would scream in languages he was never taught. After doctors were unable to understand what was wrong with him, he was finally cured by a Catholic priest. This priest performed exorcism rituals on Doe to free from the demons that allegedly possessed him.
