Perth, jan , 12 : Rohit unbeaten on 171, Kohli 91. Australia need to bat well for the second biggest ODI chase on Australian soil.
Rohit carries his bat. His 171* takes India past that psychological 300-run mark. India end up with 309. That was an exhibition in death overs batting from the Indian opener. Boland, Faulkner and Co. hit the yorker length quite consistently but Rohit was able to use the crease and convert them into low full tosses. Excellent stuff from him. Australia won’t be overly disheartened. The pitch is a flat one and with the likes of Warner, Smith and Maxwell should fancy chasing down 310. Will be a record for the venue if they do so.
India will be happy too. This is their highest score against Australia in Australia eclipsing the 304 in 2004. Rohit’s, by the way, is the highest score by a visiting batsman against Australia. Good stuff. Should be a very interesting chase. Join us for that in just over half an hour.
