Kundapur, September 25: Two persons lost their lives while cleaning the tanker after falling into its container on Wednesday late night of September 24th. The incident took place in a fish mill near Kota here.
The deceased are identified as Abbas (43) and Salam (20) residents of Kota-Padukere who were relatives.
The tanker belonged to Abbas which was hired by fish mill on contract basis to transport garbage and other waste products from the mill. From the past three years, he was working here on contract basis. After work, Abbas went home and finished his lunch. He asked sister’s son Salam to help him in cleaning the tanker. Both went to Kota and indulged in cleaning work.
They had already cleaned two containers, but while cleaning the third one Abbas lost his balance and fell into the container. Noticing this, Salam also jumped into the container to rescue his uncle. As Salam shouted, local workers rushed to the spot, but by that time both were no-more.
Abbas was married and has two children.
Bramhavar C.P.I Arun Naik, Kota Sub-Inspector K.R. Naik has inspected the spot. A case has been filed at the Kota police station and investigations are in progress.
