Mangalore, October 04: The idols of Shri Ganesha , Mother Sri Sarada and the Navadurge’s worshiped at the Kudroli Gokarnanatha temple during the Mangalore Dasara and Navaratri was taken on a grand procession with great pomp on Saturdayevening, under the leadership of former Union Minister and the initiator of Mangalore Dasara Shri Janardhan Poojary.
Sri Ganapati installed and worshipped at the golden pavilion in Kudroli temple, Adhi Shakthi, Shailaputhri, Bramhacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmandini, Skanda Mata, Katyayni, Mahakali, Mahagauri, Siddhidatri, and Sharade were placed at the premises of the temple in the evening. Later they were placed in the decorated vehicles with the help of devotees along with prayers.
Lines of coloured umbrellas, drum artistes, recital, Nasik band hover, disciplined dance by Bhajan teams, kolata, viragase, Kamsale, drum, gong, horn, trumpet, sky-reaching believers ovation, a variety of dance, scattered musical fiesta, fireworks volley, with this colourful procession began from the Sanctum and proceeded through Mannagudde, Ladyhill, Lalbagh, Ballalbhag, MG Road, K.S.Rao road, Hampankatta, GHS road and passes in front of Sri Venkataramana temple through the Chitra in car street and culminates on Sunday morning, at the pond of the sanctum.
Millions of devotees participated in the colourful procession. The city glimmered with colourfully illuminated lamps. In the procession, the team of different cultural, folklore from different districts, Hulivesha team of the coastal area, colourful umbrella’s of Trissur, drummers from Kerala, dolanruthya of Maharashtra, Andhra’s Balamuralikrishna kolata, kalladkada dolls, the band crew and with the cooperation of the various shrines more than one hundred special moving pictures drew the attention of all in the procession. Throughout the procession, the strets were decoratd with colourful lights and the flexes of the welcoming goddess were erected. The devotees performed worship at each and every area. The women and children thronged to watch the parade, and overall lakhs of people had gathered on the sides of the road in groups by evening itself. The fireworks display thrilled the viewers.

Suvarna, Ravishankar Mijar, office-bearers Sri Madava Suvarna, B.K. Tharanath, K. Maheshchandra, Devendra Poojary, B. Devadas, N. Harishchandra, Radhakrishna and others participated in the procession.

Suvarna, Chairman of the administrative Board of the sanctum H.S.Sairam including the others who strived specially for the success of Mangalore Dasara were felicitated by Mr Janardhan Poojary in front of the godess Shree Sharada before the procession commenced.
Tight Security:
As part of the Dasara procession, the traffic in main streets of the city had been deviated. The traffic was banned from passing on the road through which the procession moves. Tight Police vigilance was laid across the city to avoid unpleasant incident from taking place.
The traffic banned:
From 3 pm onwards, on Saturday evening due to the procession, respective change in the traffic was done on the roads as the procession proceeded. Soon after the start of the procession; from New Chitra towards Kudroli, Alake junction towards Kudroli temple, traffic had been banned. The ban was imposed at the South Gate and North Gate roads of the Kudroli temple.
