Mangalore, October 16: The newly chosen president of Karnataka State Bar Association, advocate P P Hegde said, he is bound to aid the family members of the advocates and assure them with the group insurance. To study and submit report on this a crew of specialists will be framed, he said.
PP Hedge had participated in a felicitation ceremony organised by the advocates association in Mangalore on October 15th Wednesday for being elected as the president of Advocates association at the auditorium of the association’s office.
The specialist’s team led by M V Shankar Bhat-senior advocate in Mangalore comprises of the members with veteran advocate T Narayana Poojary and B Ibrahim. This team would submit the report within a span of 2weeks to 1 month.
As of now, the advocates possess the facility of Kalyana Nidhi, through which maximum of only Rs 4lakhs will be available. It has been decided to hike this amount to Rs 8lakhs, for which a letter has been forwarded to the advocates department of the state government. Medical insurance is provided of Rs 2lakhs. But the families are not benefitted by this. So to avail the benefits even by their families, it is decided to take the opinion of the specialised advocates, for which a team has been formed, said PP Hedge.
On this occasion, president of the Mangalore advocates association Ashok Ariga welcomed the gathering. Advocate P P Hegde was felicitated by the veteran advocate as well as former Vice-president of the association- T. Narayana Poojary and the leaders of the association. The Devananda K- president of the advocates association of Puttur and K R Pandith- president of the advocates association of Moodbidre too congratulated Hegde. Secretary Lavanya proposed the vote of thanks. Mayur Keerthi compeered the program.
