Mangalore, October 25: A 29 years old brave, adventurous young man Sushanth Shetty, a native of Mangalore, wants to traverse 12,000 km by road from London to Bangalore all alone on his motor bike in about 15 days…
Sushanth will begin his journey on Saturday October 25th morning from London.
Sushanth is the son of the couple Jayanand Shetty from Bhavantakody House in Manjeshwar- Varkady, and Ira Kenjila Rekha J Shetty. Currently his parents are residing at Rajajinagar, Bangalore. Sushanth, who pursued higher education in motor sports engineering in England, serves for UK Ford Company at present.
Susahnth will traverse through 12 countries and will arrive at Bangalore in 2 weeks by travelling a distance of 12,000Kms to fulfil his goal. He will move through 7 different time zones. He will be using Suzuki Hayabusa motor bike. He has received the permission from all the countries until his destination.
During his travel, he will stay in different countries, and has taken help from his friends staying in various countries for this purpose. The distance between London and Indian border will be approximately 9,000 km and later he will have to travel 3,000 km from there to reach Bangalore, said his mother Rekha G shetty.
He has kept ready all the documents needed while traversing the border areas between two countries. His friends who are staying abroad have helped him for the purpose.
After entering Pakistan from Iran, he has to cover road for three days in that country. Although Pakistan is yet to grant him permission for this journey, Shetty hopes to get the permission soon. Once this is given, he plans to travel for two days with police escort of that country and stay for the nights at the police stations. If Pakistan refuses permission, he plans to undertake journey between Iran and Dubai by a ship, and again to India by another ship. It is gathered that all other necessary permissions have been granted for his journey through other countries.
Sushanth has tremendous interest in motor bike travel. He has travelled by motor bike to several countries, and has also negotiated rugged and hilly terrain of Himalayan roads by participating in car and motor bike races.
Sushanth plans to traverse through France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Iran and Pakistan, to reach India.
