Mangaluru, November 4: On the occasion of Children’s day celebrations on November 14th, President of India’s award -2014 will be presented to Puttur Sathwik Nayak from Dakshina Kannada district.
The President of India Pranab Mukherjee will be presenting the award at Rastrapathi Bhavan on November 14th. This award comprises of a silver medal, certificate and cash Rs 10,000.
He has been recommended by MLA Shakuntala Shetty and the union government’s department of women and child welfare has selected him for the award. He has been honoured by many organisations.
The child has held several magic shows. Sathwik raises his tiny hands and says ‘Magic down syndrome’ is not a sickness but a state of mind.
Sathwik Nayak is the son of couple Umesh Nayak-Sri Ram Shares owner and Roopashree of Puttur. He is a UKG student. He has given more than 100 presentations in schools, special schools, old age homes and other programmes from age of 4 along with his differently abled uncle Karnataka state award winner for 2012, Suresh Nayak.
Sathwik Nayak is included in world records by India Book of Records and Asia Book of Records. Karnataka state Chief Minister Siddaramaiah set his campaign on awareness of the syndrome by a magic.
Sathwik Nayak will hold campaigns on Swach Bharath by magic from November 12th to December 7th. In order to create awareness on the syndrome and cleanliness magic shows in Delhi and Haryana will be exhibited.
