Mangaluru, November 6: The Mangaluru Central Crime Branch police have arrested a 22-year-old aid of underworld operative Vikki Shetty in relation to the murder of Prashanth alias Pachu near Venencia in Mangaluru about 1.5 years ago.
The accused Jayesh (22) a resident of KHB colony in Bondel, was arrested from Kerala for his involvement in the murder of transport operator Prashant near Valencia in April, 2013. It is gathered; currently Jayesh was residing at a residence of Jerikal Fernandes in Valliyatura- Vallakadavu in Thiruvanantahpuram. Based on particular information the arrest was made.
The police had earlier arrested seven persons in connection with the murder. The Mangaluru South police will further investigate the case, the police said.
The cops have revealed that Jayesh alias Sachhu was accused in the murder case of Bhadruddin which took place at Brahmarakutlu in 2011, falling under Bramhavar police station jurisdiction. He failed to attend the court in this case and went absconding. The court had issued an arrest warrant against him, informed the cops.
The CCB branch inspector Valentine D’ Souza, PSI Shyam Sunder and staff carried out this operation.
