Mangaluru, November 7: Vishwanath Suvarna, also known as ‘Punjab’ Vishwanath (67) former senior RSS Pracharak and former general secretary of Bharatiya Janashakthi Party, rested in eternal peace on Friday November 7th, at his residence Pearl Apartment, near Forum Fiza Mall, Mangalore.
Vishwanath was suffered from multiple ailments. He had a paralysis attack three years ago. He was a diabetic patient who also had a kidney malfunction.
About 15 days ago he was hospitalised due to blood clot in his brain. After the operation, he went into coma and doctors suggested his family members to take him home.
Punjab Vishwanath and present Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi were close friends when they were in RSS. Vishwanath and Modi used to stay in Chandigarh. Vishwanath had struggled to unite the Sikh and the Hindus during the communal clashes.
Later Vishwanath left RSS and joined Bharatiya Janashakthi Party with Uma Bharti and worked as a general secretary. Few years later he quit the party and since the past 15 years was stayed at his daughter’s residence, and was engaged in social work.
Vishwanath is survived by wife, daughter and son. At 3 pm on Friday, the last rites will be performed.
