Kundapur, November 11: A bizarre incident where a man allegedly killed his daughter and then committed suicide at their residence in Saraswati Kalyanamantapa road in Doddoni, Kundapur on Tuesday November 11th.
The deceased Shashidhar Upadhyaya (42) allegedly killed his daughter Bhargavi (8), and hung himself. The girl child was also found hanging.
It is gathered from the sources that driver Shashidhar was separated from wife and from the past one year, only Shashidhar and Bhargavi were residing in the house.
Shashidhar has left behind a death note, stating that he himself was responsible for the suicide. It is learnt that marital problems and family dispute made him to take this extreme step.
Shashidhar’s mother and brother live close by. The incident came to light when Shashidhar’s mother came to Shashidhar’s house in the morning to give breakfast to her granddaughter. Since there was no response from inside, she informed her elder son Vidhyadhar. Later, the back door was forced open and the bodies were found.
Kundapur cops inspected the spot and filed a case.
