Mangalaru: Corporation Bank received Indira Gandhi Official Language Awards instituted by Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, today. Corporation Bank received the first prize under Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC) category and second prize under Nationalized Banks category. The awards were given by Shri Pranab Mukherjee, Hon’ble President of India at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi India in the presence of Shri Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister. Shri S R Bansal, Chairman & Managing Director of the Bank received the awards on behalf of the Bank.
Corporation Bank has always been a pioneer in the implementation of the Official Language Policy. The Bank has achieved many milestones in the implementation of official language.
Further the Bank is Convener of TOLIC, Mangalore constituted under the aegis of Ministry of Home affairs, Govt. Of India, Chairman and Managing Director of Corporation Bank is the Chairman of this prestigious committee. The committee comprises 35 Offices of the Central Government, 18 offices of Public Sectors and 30 Banks as its members. Thus, the total number of members is 83. It is one of India’s best performing committee.
Besides enhancing the usage of Official Language Hindi in Govt. offices and in the offices of TOLIC, Corporation Bank has taken Hindi language to the masses through many innovative functions.
