Mangaluru, November 18: The Ganga pooja was held at Kudroli Shree Gokarnanatheshwara Shrine, under the leadership of former central minister B Janardhan Poojary.
On this occasion, Bhajan programmes was organised since early morning. Under the lead of Janardhan Poojary, special poojas were held at the Sanctum. Post this, hundreds of women who performed Ganga Pooja, released the lamps into the lake in the premises of the sanctum.
Janardhan Poojary addressed the media on this occasion and said, we organize Ganga Pooja yearly in the sanctum in order to continue our culture of respecting women. Since we respect women, hundreds of women voluntarily participate in the pooja and perform the rituals themselves. It is said , all the luck will be bestowed if Goddess Ganga is worshiped. Hence Ganga pooja is observed yearly, revealed Poojary.
Administrative board member of the Shrine H S Sairam, Vice-president Raghavendra Kulur, Treasurer Padmaraj R (Advocate), trustees Dr B G Suvarna, Harikrishna Bantwal, Devdas, Devendra Poojary, Mahesh Chandra, Leelaksha Karkera and others participated in the pooja.
