Mangaluru, November 19: Significant contributions have been rendered by the co-operative sector in order to provide a life of self-esteem to the layman, and this sector has no failures expressed the State’s Health Minister U T Khader.
He spoke at a ceremony organised as part of the 61st All India Co-Operative campaign at Shanthi Nilaya in Balmatta. Though the population of India has risen to 125 crore’s after six decades, due to the efforts of farmers we are successful in exporting food grains and there by leading an independent life. Along with the farmers, the co-operative sector has contributed significantly to the financial growth of the country, said Khader.
Prior to the program, the president of the District Central Co-Operative Bank Dr M N Rajendra Kumar inaugurated the “Swachh Sahakar- Swasth Sahakar” co-operative walk from DK District Central Co-Operative Bank, Kodialbail premises to Shanthi Nilaya.
Rajendra Kumar speaking on this occasion said, this walk is organised to attract the youth towards Swachh and Swasth sector. He has complained that, the Reserve Bank has consented to the Commercial Banks and suppresses the growth of Co-operative Banks.
S R Sathish Chandra, Director, Karnataka State Co-operative Union presented a seminar on “Opportunities in Co-Operative Sector”. Harish Achar, President, D K district co-operative union took the chairmanship of the program.
Harish Achar said, the new co-operative rule which has been framed at the court against the co-operative rule will be questioned at the state’s High Court. Co-operative Union Data bank will be introduced in the near future and certificate courses will be introduced for the newly joining candidates into the co-operative sector with a view to educate them about this sector.
