Mangaluru, November 22: A request has been placed by the Airports Authority of India before the Union Health ministry to set up thermal imaging scanner equipment to detect the deadly Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) at Mangaluru International Airport (MIA).
A crew of Directorate General of Civil Aviation from Bengaluru and Hyderabad had visited MIA to take stock of the measures to detect EVD and the crew has returned back fully satisfied, informed the MIA director JT Radhakrishna.
Radhakrishna said, that screening of international passengers is undertaken by officials and no passenger has been detected with the virus or isolated till date.
