Mangalore/Nitte,May 16: Dr .Prakash P Kumar,Professor,Dept of Biological Sciences, National University of Singapore, inaugurating two day ‘International Conference on Emerging Trends in Engineering (ICETE-13) from 15th May at NMAM Institute of Technology,Nitte said that in research methodologies of both Scientists and Engineers are quite similar.
Research is nothing but discovering the unknown truth which is being accepted globally and interpretation of research data differs from person to person based on his/her perspective; each one is unique in his/her interpretation.
New ideas means extension o the knowledge and it can be improved by going through the original research, attending seminars and international conferences,interacting with experts and so on”,he added.
Be specific in your approach or objectives and be open minded. Get feedback from several people to improve further, learn appropriate techniques. Record your work activities in a detail “advised the research delegates gathered in large number.

Principal Dr.Niranjan N Chiplunkar after releasing the conference proceedings said in his presidential address that ‘don’t lose the confidence when you fail in the first few attempts of your research activities. Keep on doing it till you get the success’. After your success publish, patent and productise the work, he added.
Dr.K Subramahmanya Bhat,Programme Committee Chair said “about 100 technical papers will be presented during these two days by PG/PhD scholars from all over India and abroad in four tracks namely Computer Science &Engg,Mechanical Engg,Electronics and Communication Engg and Civil Engg”.
“Experts drawn from India and abroad will conduct Tutorial sessions in all the four tracks. About 25 papers will be presented in Poster sessions, he added.
Dr.Ramesh Mithanthaya, Vice Principal and Dean introduced the chief guest to the audience and launched the conference Emblem.
The convener of the conference Dr.Srinivas Pai welcomed the gathering and co-convener Dr.Narashimha Marakala proposed the vote of thanks.
