Five charged for man handling accused in false facebook account case.

Mangaluru, December 6: A Muslim youth was arrested by Moodbidri cops who reportedly changed his attire and opened face book accounts to lure a girl into his love using false names.

Meanwhile, a case was registered against five activists of a right wing organization alleged of beating up the said youth. The activists were also arrested.

It is gathered that the youth, Imthiyaz resident of Kotebagilu, had draped saffron shawl around his neck, tied red thread on his wrist and opened a Facebook account in a different name. It is said, it was done to convince a lady working for a private firm that he was a Hindu and following this, the lady reciprocated his love. After the identity of the youth was transparent, some angry youth, Sachin, Sunil, Prasad, Vinayak, and Navin reportedly assaulted the accused at Swaraj Maidan here.

A case was registered based on a complaint, by Imthiyaz on this incident.

Eventually, Naveen filed a complaint in the police station stating that Imthiyaz had opened a fake Facebook account in the name of Mahesh and introduced himself to be a Hindu. He alleged that Imathiyaz had deceived the girl by making her to believe that he was a Hindu named Mahesh.

The arrested persons were produced before the local court on Friday and the court has granted them bail.

It is gathered that even after the case was filed, the alleged Facebook account cited above remains active. On Thursday at around 12pm, the photo of youth was replaced by a baby’s photo. But, on Friday afternoon, the photo of the youth has re-appeared.
