Mangaluru, December 15: A protest rally was organized by the Sri Rama Sene under the banner “Nannu Ulisi” against cow slaughter and protection of cattle on Monday December 15th at Mangaluru.
The rally which began at Ambedkar Circle culminated near Deputy Commissioners office.
Mahesh Koppa, president, SRS south province addressing the protestors said, “once again, Sri Rama Sene has emerged as a powerful organization in the district. This organization will function to form strong Hindu samaj, and strive against cattle slaughter, terrorism, conversion, and Love Jihad.
He said, Cattle is sacred to Hindus. The government should save the cattle and ban cow slaughter. SRS is ready to stop cow slaughter and cattle trafficking. It has extended its branches in 26 districts across various states”, he said.
Dr Krishnaraj Mudugere, delivering his talk said, “In India, cattle is the wealth of a farmer. We should come forward to protect the cattle. If you protect the cow it will protect you. In our daily life, cow is useful to man which provides milk and manure. People should make up their minds and rear cows in their houses”.
Shailesh Holla of Kamadhenu Trust, Bengaluru said in his address that, “Rearing cattle in India are declining post Independence. We ought to protect the cattle”.
Activists of Sri Rama Sene took oath to save the cattle on this occasion.
Praveen Valke, State chief secretary-SRS, Savitha Ranganath, SRS- chief of women’s wing, Ananad Shetty Adyar, divisional president-SRS, and many Swamiji’s and religious heads from north and south India had participated in the protest.
A memorandum was also submitted to the Deputy commissioner by SRS activists and a few Naga Sadhus.
