Mangalore, May 20: Newly elected MLA JR Lobo of Mangalore south constituency has paid a visit to city’s central market area to study the pathetic condition of the market and to understand personally the problems faced by the traders of the area and took note of his observations of the survey of the market conducted by him on May 20, Monday morning.
Past repeated complaints by the merchants in particular and general public in general without much yield, prompted MLA to take this task of visiting central market in the city, which looks shabby and lacks several basic amenities.
Later after completing his visit, while speaking to the media reporters Lobo said in his speech that cleanliness/tidiness of the market with basic amenities would be his prime concern and informed that a meeting would be convened on May 21,Tuesday involving officials from various related departments to find a viable solutions for the existing problems of the merchants.
He also promised that he would put all his efforts to have a full-fledged central market soon.
