Mangaluru, December 23: It is gathered that Mumbai cops have detained Sridevi Santosh Poojary and Aryan Santosh Poojary, the wife and son of underworld operator Ravi Poojary, on Monday December 22nd.
Ravi Poojary, is in the wanted list of cops here in various cases including extortion, murder, murder threat etc, has absconded till now.
No sooner they checked out from a flight that arrived to Mumbai from Dubai, they were taken into custody by immigration officials. They later handed them over to the local police.
In 2012, the then Kadri police station in-charge inspector, Dr H N Venkatesh Prasanna, had collected information about the family members of Ravi Poojary, and requested the higher authorities of the department to issue lookout notices for them.
The Mumbai cops, after taking both the above said passengers into custody, informed the Mangaluru cops on Monday.
It is gathered that, on Tuesday December 23rd Kadri cops are expected to leave for Mumbai to bring the duo to Mangaluru.
