Mangalore, December 25: Brilliant dances and traditional cuisines of Dakshina Kannada and Gujarat were stalled at Panambur beach during the inauguration of Beach Utsav organized as a part of Karavali Utsav; on Wednesday, December 24th.
The Beach Utsav is being held for a period of nine days this time.
Crowd which flocked at the beach savoured variety dishes stalled in various food stalls.
Students of Gujarathi Mahajan Association, Mangaluru entertained the crowd with awesome dance performances, while participating groups in the dance competition also performed after the inaugural ceremony.
B Ramanath Rai, in-charge minister inaugurated the beach festival by launching a kite in the sky.
Speaking to the media, he said, people from and out of the district can witness the beauty and richness of the local culture and the local cuisine the Karavali Utsav.
Rai said, each year; the district administration would try to make the fest better.
Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim, DK Superintendent of Police Dr S D Sharanappa, Mayor Mahabala Marla, MLA Moidin Bava, chairman of Karavali Utsav Beach Festival Committee Yathish Baikampady, Pradeep Kumar Kalkura and others were present during the fest.
