Mangaluru, January 20: The under trials in district prison were said to have involved in a quarrel on Monday, January 19th during which the CCTV cameras installed were damaged.
It is learnt that the incident had while Arafat and Ravoof, the accused in the Derlakatte forced sex case, were taken to the video conferencing room in the ‘B’Block for questioning. The duos under trials were detained in the ‘A’ block.
Sources said vegetable curry was splashed over Arafat by few other inmates due to which the quarrel erupted.
But the jail authorities said there was no clash but only a heated argument during which the CCTV cameras were damaged by the prisoners.
Barke cops had rushed to the cell and initiated appropriate measures.
