Mangaluru, January 23: As per reports, a case has been filed in Vidhana Soudha police station in Bengaluru after a false message targeting health minister U T Khadar was transmitted in WhatsApp and other social media.
The complaint filed by K A Hidayatullah, special duty officer to U T Khadar, states that WhatsApp messages were being circulated with false information which shows Khadar’s ‘daughter’ as recently married. The messages claimed that the bride, shown wearing lots of gold ornaments on her, was Khadar’s daughter. In actuality, Khadar does not have any daughter who has attained the age to get into wedlock, stated Hidayatullah.
The girl shown in the picture is some stranger and is neither a relative to either Khadar nor his family, he said.
The 12-year-old, only daughter of Khadar, studies in a primary school and is staying in an ordinary hostel in Kerala.
In the complaint Hidayatullah has further stated that, besides disturbing his peace of mind; the fake message has brought much pain to the minister’s family. Khadar and his family have been constantly answering phone calls from the public and news channels and are being subjected to much discomfort, stated the complaint.
It further reads, over the last one week, many people including political leaders have queried Khadar about the fake photo. This is a plot to falsely project Khadar as somebody who had a lavish wedding for his ‘daughter’,” the complaint states.
Khadar being embarrassed has said in response, “Some miscreants have done it. Unnecessary assassination of character hurts me a lot. But it is common in public life”.
In the complaint, Hidayatullah has urged the cops to track the persons who are responsible for creating and spreading the fake message and take stringent action on the offenders.
FIR has been filed by cops under section 66 A of the IT Act, on Thursday January 22nd, on the basis of complaint.
