Mangaluru, January 30: A crew of 8 persons have allegedly stabbed a youth in a bus near Balmatta on Friday, January 30th in Mangaluru.
The victim is Muzammil (22), a civil engineer by profession. He has suffered stab injuries on his belly and shoulder and has been admitted to hospital.
Muzammil has stated that when he was travelling by bus, a man who stood near him had blocked him by placing his hand close to the face of Muzammil. When Muzammil told him to remove his hand, the man replied that if he is facing problem, he should stand in other place. When words were exchanged, six others who accompanied the man, stabbed Muzammil on his belly and shoulder and fled the spot, reads the complaint.
Muzammil have identified the assaulters namely Sachin, Sajith, Varun, Deepak, Chetan, Pradeep and Prashanth, who were said to be his high school classmates.
It is said that, Muzammil and the accused youths were said to be friends; who used to play volley ball in the evenings every day. The cops suspect that the internal clashes aroused between the friends might have paved way for this incident.
Kadri cops have filed a case.
