Mangalore, May 31: Addressing the press reporters in the press meet held at press club on May 31, Friday, Ramanatha Kotian, outgoing president said in his farewell speech that he has the full satisfaction with regard to his duties that has been discharged during his one year and four months of his tenure as president.
He further said in his speech that although he is leaving after serving the academy for one year and four months, his self esteem/regard towards tulu culture will never be diminished.
In his maiden speech after his resignation as president, he said that academy has undertaken so many programmes, projects for the very survival of tulu culture. Felicitations,honouring,book distribution programme,Tulu Chavadi, creating awareness about the importance of tulu in other places are some of the programmes undertaken during his tenure and was grand success,he said.
Academy does not have the building of its own. Blue print has been prepared to build one building with all the facilities in 50 cents of land allotted by the state government in Urva store, which will portray the glory of tulu culture, he added.
All the 13 members of the academy have extended their full hearted support in carrying out academy’s activities during the period, he said.
Hope, new president will strive to fulfill the aspirations of the people.
